My First post: Obama's speech in Cairo

First of all, I will post the speech, and then the translation! (I choose this speech, because I really like the Obama's pronunciation) =) Text: Obama’s Speech in Cairo
I am honored to be in the timeless city of Cairo, and to be hosted by two remarkable institutions. For over a thousand years, Al-Azhar has stood as a beacon of Islamic learning, and for over a century, Cairo University has been a source of Egypt's advancement. Together, you represent the harmony between tradition and progress. I am grateful for your hospitality, and the hospitality of the people of Egypt. I am also proud to carry with me the goodwill of the American people, and a greeting of peace from Muslim communities in my country: assalaamu alaykum. We meet at a time of tension between the United States and Muslims around the world – tension rooted in historical forces that go beyond any current policy debate. The relationship between Islam and the West includes centuries of co-existence and cooperation, but also conflict and religious wars. More recently, tension has been fed by colonialism that denied rights and opportunities to many Muslims, and a Cold War in which Muslim-majority countries were too often treated as proxies without regard to their own aspirations. Moreover, the sweeping change brought by modernity and globalization led many Muslims to view the West as hostile to the traditions of Islam.
( I used for this short paragraph, Literal translation and natural equivalence). Comments: As a problem, I found two words that did not know its literal translation, such as goodwill and timeless, which I had to think some synonyms. Also, before looking for the written speech, I've listen to the whole discourse and also I practise pronunciation, in words like Remarkables, harmony, hospitality and Also Assalaamu alaykum! In my next entry, I will work pronunciation, so do not miss it teacher! Bye! You can find the whole speech here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_889oBKkNU

Two people have been killed in clashes between security forces and protesters in the Gulf state of Oman, witnesses and officials said.
Hundreds had gathered for a second day in the industrial city of Sohar to call for political reforms.
At least five people were said to have been wounded when police fired tear gas and rubber bullets at protesters.
Until now, Oman had mostly been spared the unrest which has affected other Arab states in recent months.
Demonstrations are also taking place in the southern town of Salalah, according to Reuters news agency.
There was a small protest last week in the capital Muscat last week, with around 300 people calling for greater democracy and jobs.
'Vandals’
Reporting Sunday's disturbances in Sohar, the state-controlled Oman News Agency said a number of demonstrators were involved in "riots" that resulted in public and private property being destroyed.
"The police and anti-riot groups combated this vandal group in a bid to maintain the safety of the citizens and their properties which resulted in some injuries," it said.
An official who did not want to be named told AFP news agency: "Two were killed after being shot with rubber bullets as protesters attempted to storm a police station."
