My first visit to Dalia Lozada´s Blog was very interesting. I found a text entitled Still Hoping for an Accord which called my attention, so I decided to read it. I also had a pleasant surprise when I found with a recording of the text and I could hear exactly how to pronounce all words of the text. By the way, I have learned the meaning and how to pronounce these words: held, envoy, acronym, path, counterpart, guerrilla, advisable, emphasis, immovable, hostages, captive and stressed, this one was especial because I thought it was misspelled and then I knew this word means to emphasize.
When I finished to read the text I decided to do an exercise using what I learned in English V and I wrote all complex tenses including simple modals, their function and their meaning. As you will see on the results table there were a few of them because almost entire text was redacted with simple tenses.
Complex Tenses | ||
Verb Tense | Function | Meaning |
must take | Simple modal | Deberá tomar |
must be evaluated | Complex modal | Deberán ser evaluadas |
has received | Perfect Present | Ha recibido |
